Creek Residence

This single-story Florida Cracker style residence is located on Crane Creek, near downtown Melbourne. The inspiration for the house was drawn from the original house on the property, which was built by the Owner’s Grandparents over a half century ago. The unique size and access to the lot drove the layout of the house. Entry to the lot is on the west side, through an easement from the adjacent neighbor, while the primary view of the lot is to the south, overlooking Crane Creek. A linear layout of the living space was developed to take advantage of both views with the living room, dining room and kitchen perpendicular to the creek. The kitchen overlooks the entry porch and drive with three large windows and dorm windows above. The living room overlooks the creek and adjacent porch that wraps around the back of the house. The bedrooms are located on the backside of the house, with the Owner’s suite overlooking the creek. The Owner’s suite has access to the wrap around porch on the back, large walk-in closet with an island, and a private en suite bathroom. The large kid’s bedrooms have walk-in closets and share a bathroom at the end of the hallway.
